Melberra Star has maintained her brilliant fresh record when she surprised many with a blitzing performance at Kembla Grange on Saturday.

Racing first-up off a lengthy spell, she was underestimated in the market (at $21), but she paid the believers under a patient ride from her favourite jockey Carly Frater-Hill.

Settling back off a genuine speed, the Denman mare appeared to be in her rhythm as they marched over the 1200m. A clear passage presented itself at the top of the straight Deni was able to showcase her customary sprint and power over the top of her rivals to win by 1/2 head on Ruthless Agent ($4.60) with Sacher Torte ($1.30) a close-up third.
