Because We All Can scored a very impressive win in the Benchmark 60 Handicap over 1300 metres this afternoon. Returning after a brief let-up to recover from being galloped-on at her last start third at Canberra at the end of December, Because We All Can jumped well and was able to get to the rail and lead.

Mid-race she lost the lead but Carly Frater was able to retain the rail and hit the front again on the turn. Ridden confidently in the straight, Because We All Can had a three-quarter length advantage on the line. Today was her fourth win from 14 starts and she now qualifies for Stable Star status on the website.

This was a very important win for Because We All Can as she will now have the rating to qualify for a start in the Goulburn heat of the Country Championship on 20 March. The Joseph, Jones and Kimber clans can celebrate today’s win but should keep something in reserve for Goulburn as, on her current form, Because We All Can will be very competitive.
