Singled Out Never In Doubt At Canberra

Jan 07, 2017

Singled Out notched the third win of her career, easily taking out the Core Building Group Benchmark 55 Handicap (1400m) at Canberra.

The six-year-old mare by Not A Single Doubt from Orientation started as the short priced favourite at her home track.

She was slow out of the barriers but with apprentice jockey Rachel Hunt on board, she quickly made up lost ground.

She overtook her rivals one by one to be sitting outside the leader, Mazurka, on the turn for home.

As soon she entered the straight she shot away, bolting in to win by almost two lengths.

The win took her earnings over $60,000 – ten times her purchase price.

“It was a good to get another win,” trainer Paul Jones said.

“She’s an honest mare and has a place rate of 50%.

“Rachel always tries her hardest and doesn’t let a hiccup like a slow start throw her.”
