Always Flushed Wins On Debut At Moruya
Nov 28, 2016
Patience paid off for the owners of Always Flushed, who debuted as a four-year-old with an impressive win at Moruya.
The daughter of More Than Ready from Quick Blush took out the Curtis & Cloud Fashions Maiden Plate (930m) in a class record time of 53:09.
She was quick off the mark from barrier 5 and jockey Simon Miller settled her two lengths off the leader in fifth position.
With 200m to go she was still in fifth place but flashed home down the outside to win by a length from Bare Foot Babe ($4) and City Of Shadows ($9).
This was a huge achievement given she had undergone surgery for chipped knees just twelve months earlier.
“It was a great win in a fast run race,” trainer Barbara Joseph said.
“It took her a while to wind up so we will have to see if she is more of a 1200m or 1400m horse.”
Dynamic Syndications purchased Always Flushed at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale in 2014 and the ownership group has been exceptionally patient while she recovered from her knee problems.
She joined the Joseph Jones Racing stable in August and is Dynamic Syndications’ 160th individual winner.
