Almost Court has once again given his rivals a procession in the Narooma Cup at Moruya yesterday.

Racing first-up from a spell, the highly promising ex-kiwi was up against open company for the first time but that couldn’t stop the five year old as he streaked clear in front of a packed crowd.

$5 into $2.50 in the closing stages of betting, Patrick Scorse put the big fellow straight on the speed and no other was tough enough to take him on. He was able to dictate on his terms, give a bold kick on straightening and the rest was absolute history. Close to the line Patrick Scorse’ excitement got the better of him and he got high in the irons and gave the racegoers a cheer as went past the post.

Almost Court will leave the Moruya Cup hopefully for his stable mates Rock on Zariz and Director and will head straight to the Bega Cup at the Sapphire Coast 2 day carnival (3rd and 4th February). The JJR team will be decked out with plenty of runners.
